Madis Katz (s 1983) on õppinud fotograafiat Kõrgemas Kunstikoolis Pallas ning  semiootikat ja etnoloogiat Tartu Ülikoolis. Ta on kunstnik, fotograaf ja palendaja, tegutseb hooti õppejõuna ning on kultuurilehe Müürileht kujundaja.

Madis Katzi huvitab kunstnikuna loovantropoloogiline dokumentaalkontseptualism, igapäevaelu kui simulaakrum ja argisuse tähenduslikkuse rehabiliteerimine.

Ta elab ja loob Tartus ning Lõuna-Eestis.

Madis Katz (1983) has studied photography in Pallas University of Applied Sciences and semiotics and ethnology in Tartu University. He is an artist, a photographer, and a graphic designer. He is the graphic designer for cultural newspaper Müürileht while being intermittently engaged as a lecturer in the field of photography.

Madis Katz’s artwork is concerned with artistic anthropology via documentary conceptualism, day-to-day existence as simulacra and rehabilitating the significance of the mundane.  

He lives and works in Tartu and Southern Estonia.
